Come Watch the First 10 Minutes of ‘The FP’
It’s no secret I’ve been really excited about The FP. For those who are still in the dark, The FP, is a movie where gangs battle by epic Dance Dance Revolution competitions. It looks completely over-the-top and might turn out to be awful, but the trailer had me sold. Imagine my surprise when Drafthouse Films decided to release ten minutes of the film online. The FP is getting a limited release on March 16 ( you can get the full theater list here.)
Here’s the official plot description:
In a dystopian future, a relentless turf war rages. Two rival gangs feud for control of rural wasteland Frazier Park (‘The FP’) in the deadly arena of competitive dance-fight video game “Beat-Beat Revelation.” After hometown hero BTRO is slain on the dance platform by thug leader L Dubba E, his protégé younger brother JTRO (Jason Trost) goes into isolation, vowing never to duel again. One year later, The FP is in ruins, and JTRO must find the courage to return and restore order in a ruthless battle for revenge that can only leave one man dancing. From the producers of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and featuring narration by James Remar (THE WARRIORS), THE FP is a fury of fierce footwork, triumphant montages and neon street wear that Moviefone calls “a rare ready-made cult hit.”

Wow, this looks awesome but very OTT. It must hold the record for having the most swear words in the opening 10 minutes
I wonder if I’ll be able to see it here in the UK?
I agree that it looks OTT, but that’s why it looks so much fun. I hope they put a VOD release of it up soon.
I just can’t bring myself to sit through this one. Sorry man. The first time I saw the trailer I knew that it would have its certain group following…but I just can’t get into it. haha.
I hope you enjoy it when it releases. I will look for your review!
Well I used to play the hell out of DDR, so I was just dying laughing while watching the trailer. I could see how it won’t be for everyone though.
This looks so amazingly awful that I must see it at some point in time. I was a big DDR player a long while ago, but the biggest problem I see is that it seems like it’s made to cater to DDR fans, and yet anyone who is a fan of DDR would really complain with how it’s “played” in this movie. I was laughing so hard when he screamed at the end of the clip.
I’m a huge DDR fan too, but I haven’t played in years. The FP does look terrible, but I hope to see it sometime. Thanks for stopping in.
That was a weird clip! I pictured you doing you playing DDR in the basement. It wasn’t quite that intense, but it seems almost funny seeing how serious the actors were about their hoods. Good luck with that!
That’s what makes this movie so interesting though. There’s no way DDR should be that intense. I fully expect it to be bad, but I’d love to sit down and watch it.
