Starz Leaving Netflix in February
So, the new pricing for Netflix has started and we have already started losing services. Yesterday, it was announced the Starz will end it’s agreement with Netflix, February 2012. The deal will effect 1,000′s of streaming titles as well as the hit shows for the Starz company.
Quote from Starz:
Starz said it made the decision to “protect the premium nature of our brand by preserving the appropriate pricing and packaging of our exclusive and highly valuable content,” according to a statement issued today.
Netflix was willing to make Starz very rich to keep the content, but Starz apparently wanted Netflix to offer tiered pricing for customers that wanted their content. Netflix just suffered a major consumer blow by changing prices, obviously they can’t agree to change again so soon.
So much for getting more for our money, right?
