Light and Dust
Light and Dust is a short film about a young woman, Heather, who seeks refuge in the stars because of an abusive relationship. Heather must realize that there is more to life than security if she wishes to accomplish her dreams.
My name is Max Covill. I am a 26-year-old film director from Warwick, RI. I am currently a CE student at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I recently directed a short film about a young woman who seeks refuge in the stars from an abusive relationship. The film is set in New England in the current day.
The film is my thesis project for my certificate at The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I decided to go above and beyond the requirements for this video to really make it something to be proud of, so I hired actors, worked with SAG (The Screen Actors Guild), wrote my own script, and secured the locations, props and wardrobe needed. We really need your help to make this project a success.

Why We Need Your Help:
Any amount is useful! We appreciate any help you can provide!
$7,000+ has already gone into the production of the film! $3,000 was the lowest we could go.
This will be an incredibly intense and rigorous time where every cent counts. All funds will be going towards the payment for the EQUIPMENT, lights, cameras, rigs, you name it. Of course, the TALENT also would like to be paid. The securing of LOCATIONS, TRANSPORTATION, CREW, heavy equipment moving, and, of course, SET DESIGN is needed. In addition, production elements such as MUSIC and SCORING will be completed as well.
We want to make this the best possible film we can and with your support we’ll be able to secure a professionally composed score as well as complete the post-production work needed to bring Light and Dust to the next level.
