Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss in The Hunger Games

The upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly has the first image of Oscar-Nominee Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games. EW was hoping to offer the first look, but Hunger Games fansite The Hob got it up first. Here it is in all it’s glory:

So, what do you think? I’m pretty surprised and I love the look. I wasn’t sure she was cast right in the role, but such is the wonders of make-up and costume design.

Lawrence heading a cast that also includes Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks and Stanley Tucci. The Hunger Games is coming along and the excitement is rising.
