‘Black Swan’ Reigns Supreme at Independent Spirit Awards 2011

‘Black Swan’ was the big winner at the independent Spirit Awards Saturday night.

‘Winter’s Bone’ was the favorite going in, but ‘Black Swan’ ended up taking all four awards it was nominated: Best Feature, Best Lead Actress (Natalie Portman), Best Cinematography (Matthew Libatique) and Best Director (Darren Aronofsky).

Portman, who has been the front runner for every race she’s been in this awards season, continued to dominate with another win the eve before the Oscars.

‘Winter’s Bone’ ended up winning the supporting-acting categories for John Hawkes and Dale Dickey.

Best First Feature: Get Low

John Cassavetes Award: Daddy Longlegs

Best Male: James Franco (127 Hours)
Best Cinematography: Matthew Libatique (Black Swan)
Best Foreign Film: The King’s Speech
Best Documentary: Exit Through The Gift Shop
