The Hunger Games – Catching Fire will contain IMAX Footage

Posted June 13, 2012 by Max in Film News

It’s nice to hear they aren’t scaling down the budget. According to THR, IMAX is to release Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on its super-sized screens on November 22, 2013. For the second installment of the movie franchise, director Francis Lawrence will use Imax cameras to shoot certain scenes from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which will also be digitally remastered into the Imax format.

It’s great news that more blockbusters are adopting the 70mm format outside of M:I Ghost Protocol and The Dark Knight Rises. There’s been rumors going around about the casting of The Hunger Games – Catching Fire, but with this news Lionsgate seems poised to increase the spectacle of one of their premier franchises.

The Hunger Games – Catching Fire opens on November 22, 2013.
