Daniel Craig Locked in for Two More James Bond Films

Posted September 7, 2012 by Max in Film News

Although Skyfall hits the theaters later this Fall, a question has arised: how many more James Bond films is Daniel Craig going to appear in?  Casino Royale was a fantastic entry in the James Bond franchise, but Quantum of Solace is better off forgotten.  My excitement level to hear news of Craig’s continuing role would depend on which side of the fence Skyfall falls (no pun intended).

According to the  website, MI6, Craig is confirmed for two more movies, but the source for that confirmation is not revealed.  If this were true, I could imagine his last appearance in the series happening in 2016 with, perhaps, only a two year gap instead of the bulky four year gap (like what happened between Quantum and Skyfall) for best effectiveness.  It remains to be seen if enough quality and excitement can be squeezed into more James Bond entries, but I guess I’m happy that there is an actor attached for the foreseeable future.  For those keeping score at home, if Daniel Craig appears in 5 Bond films he will become the third longest-serving Bond, just behind Sean Connery and Roger Moore.

Skyfall opens on November 9th.
